Resume mailings typically fall into a range of 1000 - 10,000 resumes and a very general rule is 3000 per $100,000 income for international searches. At the high end they are usually on behalf of Generalists i.e. CEOs, COOs, General Managers, Financial Managers, HR Executives, Legal Counsels and CIOs who are not constrained by industry or geographical barriers. HEADHUNTERS/EXECUTIVE SEARCH FIRMS

The executive search industry is dominated by North American and European firms (particularly UK based firms). A typical executive search firm will handle around 10 searches at any one time. Therefore, if you mail to 1000 headhunters you should cover on average 10,000 available positions. This is a relatively small proportion of all available positions. However, the positions available are generally of a very high standard.

Headhunters work with candidate databases. They are very pleased to receive well prepared resumes from candidates whose current salary is within their usual search parameters. These resumes they will retain and they rarely retain more than 5% of resumes received. Once you are in an executive search firms database you will be considered for current and future assignments. We have been informed by past clients that they have been contacted by a headhunter as long as 3 years after a mailing.

Senior executives are well advised to contact major international corporations at Headquarters level. The hiring process for a US$150,000+ executive will probably be initiated at HQ level and will almost certainly require HQ approval. A resume at HQ level sometimes gets passed down to regional/country offices thereby increasing the mailing coverage. We can target any industry in any country.

SMEs

Small and medium sized organisations are an excellent source of appointments. Corporations experiencing high growth often recruit experienced managers from larger corporations. We can target any industry.
